Will it explode????

Greetings, I am new to this forum and stirling engine technology. I am starting a project that will convert a off the shelf V cylinder air compressor into a Alpha stirling engine. My biggest question is if the oil is left in the air compressor will it explode after the conversion? I was reading that hot O2 will mix with the oil and explode and one death has been recorded. I can not find the link where I read this. Is this true?

You could add a safety pressure valve in case it does ?

Greetings, can you recommend a off the item that would work as a safety valve and should it placed above or below the piston? The only item I can think of is a hot water tank safety valve, then the question is what psi is involved with the stirling cycle?

Well, it looks like it's going to be awesome when it's finished. Please keep us updated, if you don't mind. I did try replying on fieldlines, but their login server is hopeless

Greetings, project progress to date. I purchased the air compressor. I disassembled the air compressor. I determined that the reed plates and inside the cylinder head will have to be machined out. It is currently a work in progress. The crank case has a port for a one way valve to release any pressure buildup that is caused by blow by from the piston rings. I plan on using the original piston rings and have oil in the crank case. I have completed all the research, I just need to find the time to complete the project, Thanks for keeping me pointed in the right direction.
