Experiment on aibecy stirling engine

I want to determine efficiency of aibecy gamma Stirling engine with and without insulation the displacer. I have measured outside surface temperature of hot cylinder and displacer. But I am unable to find inside temperatures. Please guide me

"aibecy" seems to be a brand name or something, rather than a specific type of engine and gamma is rather broad, can you post an image or link that shows the engine?

I've had a similar situation before, and actually still do, when I find the time to experiment some more, though I never went so far as measuring internal engine temperatures, just the outer surfaces.

Anyway, after a long search and trying to evaluate all the available options I could find, I sent for this:

It came with four very tiny temperature probes not much if any larger than the wire they are on with a range of -30 to 300 °C. The device itself can handle -328 to 2501°F (-200 to 1372°C) but probes for that range would have to be ordered separately.

Possibly some holes could be drilled to insert the probes and sealed with some silicone, if it can be done in a way that doesn't interfere with anything.

Thank you sir. It is gamma Stirling engine. It's difficult to drill the hole in glass.

I thought perhaps an infrared thermometer, but according to this article, that won't work:

It may be difficult but perhaps possible, to drill through glass with a diamond drill. Something like one of these maybe?

I bought one of those thermometers, but for experiments with LTD (low temperature) engines. After sending for the thermometer, though, things got very busy and I haven't actually had much time to put it to use.

If there is some way I could help, though, perhaps. What did you have in mind?

Mostly I had been running LTD engines backward on ice.

The glass used in a Stirling engine is likely more difficult to drill than regular bottle glass but I don't know. I'd be interested to know how it goes.
