Stirling college project advice

Hi, I'm currently carrying out a college project building a stirling engine.
I need confirmation and inspiration on the following...
I need to build a stirling engine so looking at all the types i chose a lamina flow single cylinder, is this a stirling engine??? as it only has one cylinder and piston no displacer, which type does it fall under? i thought Beta type.
I need to demonstrate the principles of momentum and efficiency what would you suggest i do to help demostrate these?
all help would be most appreciated i will post up pics of the build...
