I ran across these plans to build an air cooled hot air engine on ebay. It was an old 1961 Pop Sci magazine article. I purchased them. About three weeks later I ran across an air cooled hot air engine for sale on the internet by an antique dealer. Well I was surprised when I realized it was the same engine. I purchased the engine and now have it here. It was built in 1961 from the same article. It runs great and I have made a webpage for it. You can see it and the plans at

Have fun!

Looks pretty primitive, but at the same time it is also very nice... I like the "stove" made for the hotcap (intendig to build one for my engine too to shield the flame from the wind)
They told me one cannot build a jet engine in garage conditions. I proved them wrong and I was only 16 :P
