Post by dhanco »

Hi, i've just started building my first stirling engine, an hb11 and i foolishly failed to make sure a bearing wasn't flush, is there anyway i can release the super glue to align the bearing correctly ..... sorry to be so basic.

Thanks.

The only thing I know is acetone. It's in most fingernail polish removers. Good luck on your project.

I've seen machinists using super glue when turning parts on a lathe, then separate the parts afterward with a propane torch. It didn't appear to require much heat to soften up the glue. Though I've never tried it myself.
