Sorry for my bad English
Yesterday I run my Philips MP 1002 CA
At a given moment he running to heavy, and then stopped !! @@ ??.
After checking it turned out to be the generator, fortunately nothing is wrong with the engine.
There are three capacitors 20 uf, 25 uf, and the third ?????? uf, this has exploded. (uf = microfarad).
The question is what is the value of the third capacitor 15, 20, 25uf ???
Another problem is that a modern capacitor (round) does not fit into the box.
Does anyone have an electrical schematic of the generator?
Does anyone have an alternative for these capacitors?

Rik, the round one at the bottom should be 20 Mfd wired across the coils, and the big square one is actually two 20 Mfd in parallel in series with the load. Run capacitors for an electric motor would be the ones for replacement. The old ones are probably due for replacement. Look for a rating of 300V +.

Now find the right capacitors that fit into the box, nowadays there are rectangular versions.
I replace all three.
Another question:next to the capacitors is a round disc with wires, is that a diode? Do you also have an electrical diagram?

It is an AC unit. I doubt that it is a diode(the round disc), does it have any writing on it?

That is correct an AC motor with permanent magnets.
Nothing stands on the round disc, I suspect it is also a capacitor, I measure 37 uf.
I run the generator with a frequency controlled motor at 3000 r/min, but I do not exceed 145 volts.
Is the Parallel Capacitor really 20 uf? it is much smaller than the other, for the remnants of the exploded I measure 0.65 uf
I got an extensive manual from the Philips museum today, the information about the generator was unfortunately not available.

The square one with two 20uf capacitors in parallel would be the same as one at 40uf.
Inside the flywheel there is a centrifugal brake that governs the speed to 3000rpm, seems a bit crude to me, but I suppose it works.

If you can't get the magnets up. new magnets from steel or cast iron incorporating some rare earth magnets is a possibility, but you have a good chance, I have a remagnetiser, and rejuvenate magnets for old automotive magnetos.

Bingo!!!! this was the problem, the magnets were not strong enough.
It was some work to make the adapters, but it paid off.
When I slide the rotor out of the adapters, I immediately slide it to a steel cylinder, see photo, this: to prevent loss of magnetism.
Now find the right size capacitors, which fit into the box.
The series capacitors are 45 μF
The parallel 20 uF
118 Volt by 3000r/min
For the unknown of the Philips engine, this is a different theme, but the generator also belongs to the complete set.

It took a long time, but I found rectangular capacitors, at AliExpress in China.
He does it perfectly, But !!!!, a new problem , The rubber connection of the pulley has been torn loose.
I have made a metal connection for the time being, this has the disadvantage that there are more vibrations in the complete generator set.
I made a mold to vulcanize new rubber, this is now at the vulcanization company.
If I can mount it on it I am curious how it is with the vibrations.
