showing the NASA configuration which uses less working parts.
I would like to make changes as per attached diagram to an existing sterling engine.
Can you please confirm if I understood the NASA configuration as this new implementation and the changes will work ?

Have not studied it too much, but one thing I do see, your design shows a hollow displacer, if you use this DON'T put a hole in it, if you do it won't work. This looks similar to the TMG designed by Mr E. H. Cooke-Yarbough at Harwell in England.
