What you think so far?'
Re: Building a two-cylinder stirling with pictures
i have now done finished the rod seal, its two of them, and the thight fit in the tin can
here is the complete seal, its a total of two, the other dispencer seal is a 2mm brass flange,i just cuted of the treads!!
i am gonna give it all a red color
here you see the bottom seal, its a brass bearing from an electric engine taken from a printer!!here is the complete seal, its a total of two, the other dispencer seal is a 2mm brass flange,i just cuted of the treads!!

Re: Building a two-cylinder stirling with pictures
Here is the hole thing so far,you can also see the brass part that i made the dispencer seal with!
hope i get some more work on it soon!Re: Building a two-cylinder stirling with pictures
The fly wheel will be in the middle, so thats why its is so wide!
Re: Building a two-cylinder stirling with pictures
I am finished with half of the machine, it would go to 540-550 RPM with a candle..so this can be fun
here is a video of it!

Re: Building a two-cylinder stirling with pictures
i got it running on two cylinders now, but my left cylinder is much weaker than the right cylinder, when i run them solo, my right cylinder goes to 750RPM with only one candle, and my left wont even start on one candle.
so i think the displacer could be destroyed, cause i i used one hour to make it start...
it has a lot of power when i run it at two cylinders, cant stopp the fly wheel shaft with my fingers....
i hope i can get some idea here about the problem..if not i will open the cylinder later today...

Re: Building a two-cylinder stirling with pictures,now at 95
I think i will start build a 3 cylinder now, but first i will try to tune my 2 cylinder, so it goes right..what ya think about all my thoughts????
Re: Building a two-cylinder stirling with pictures,now at 95
Nice work!
I really like the recoiled conrod. Good for easy adjust-ability, and would also spring load the power piston stroke and allow it to react more dynamically between the sinusoidal crank rotation and the relative down and up force pressures per cycle stroke. I wonder if the engine would run faster or slower with a solid/direct shaft for the conrod

(my guess is slower)

Thank you vamoose!!!
you ask about the con rod--it myst be the displacer rod??...i think it will go faster with a straight rod, cause it lighter."just my thoughts"
Are you saying that i should use a spring in them rods, so they will get bumped up again??? like a pen spring
Anyway thanks for reply.

Re: Building a two-cylinder stirling,now at 1040RPM
Good on you, the speed increase is quite predictable, don't be too surprised if it nears 2000rpm.Ian S C
Re: Building a two-cylinder stirling,now at 1040RPM
Thank you ian...i will try to build the machine finished fast!!,but i have a shortage of time atm!
