Shopping for bits, attn Ian S C.

Post by John Hill »

Hi Ian I was looking around the stores today and found some stainless steel drinking mugs at KMart at the Riccarton Mall. The mugs are made in India an priced $NZ4 each.

These mugs are a close fit in the stainless steel coffee makers I have on hand. Hopefully these will be ideal parts for the hot cylinder of my Alpha Stirling!!!

Hi John, all the best for the new year, thanks for the info. Another place for suitable containers is the Indian food market at South City, I'v also picked up some good ones at the second hand shop here in Darfield. Second hand, and op shops are the ideal places to look, also The Eco Shop, Blenheim rd. The type of can I,v been looking for is mentioned by James G. Rizzo, in Model Engineer, a certain type of soft drink in the UK is in stainless steel cans, of similar thickness to the standard aluminium ones, these make excellent displacers. Ian S C
