Hi
I came across these pictures while googling for CPU coolers. isnt it a great idea? A stirling engine to cool a computers CPU. I dont know if they are successful. Have anybody seen them for real? Maybe the are just technology demonstrator. But awsome anyways.
thanks

rustybarrel,
I think your right in saying they might be a technology demonstrator. One could also use a Thermoelectric effect to drive the fan, but still, it is a great display of the flexible applications of hot air engines.

An even better system, is used by NASA in satelites for cooling, the Stirling Engine is driven, and used as a Cryocooler, cooling has been the strong point for Stirling Engines. Ian S C

Dumb question, how does this puppy start? Does it use internal air flow from the motorized fans to start the Stirling Cooler?
