Sorry. Again a new post. I am new to this forum and my mind churns out atleast two Stirling engine ideas per day. So instead of going mad I am posting it here. We know that in gamma engine connection to the power cylinder from displacer is given either from cold end or from a middle point. What will happen if we give connection from hot end of displacer cylinder? Will the engine still run? Have anyone of you tried this before? Can you please help me.

The main reason a gamma engine has the power piston near the cold side is to prevent thermal expansion of either the power cylinder or power piston. I posted a link to a video recently that shows how the high temperature barely migrates to the cold side at all in a well built engine. By keeping the power piston cool, you avoid the issues with thermal expansion that could either cause air leakage or piston binding.
