I think its a 35W Lucas, may be 45W but I don't think so.Got a couple of slightly bigger ones, but I'll wait for a bigger motor to drive one of them.
Did you start yours with a load on it, because as with any generator/alternator, you can drive it with what ever you have, but you can't get more power out than what goes in. Ian S C

I had a power switch on the field coils, to energize the alternator.
At 80 amps it was 960 watts, there's the difference. I'd hoped to power it with steam.
But it would have required a much larger boiler and bigger wood box.
