An LTD type engine might not be the best design. An alpha or some other type might due just as well or better, but I always thought seeing was believing. That large LTD in the video Aviator168 posted is driving a 1500 watt generator. Isn't it?

Magnetic gear can't be used in a crank. A very important function of the crank is to synchronize the movements of the pistons, can't have any slippages.

Had a look at the magnetic Hypocyloid gear yesterday when I was looking for something else, it did not show the gear under load, or indicate the amount of drag caused by the magnets.

I've been contemplating various possible applications. This information, in particular the video, gives me a much better idea of how to go about designing and building some such thing.
