Hi, I am here.
Re: "Hi" We are new here!
I'm an Electrical Engineer by day, and recent fanatic of the Stirling Engine. Hopefully I can contribute and help...

Hi , just new here meself.
Re: "Hi" We are new here!
Hi, I'll be reading through the forums before I do any serious posting.
Re: "Hi" We are new here!
Sirius, welcome to the Stirling Engine forum, "at last" good to see you looking through, you'll find a lot of good stuff, and a bit of rubbish, compare ideas with known designs, ask questions, the only silly question is one not asked, and don't take too much offence if our ideas differ from yours because we all have differences. Hi,
New here. Doing research for my HND project which is going to be putting a stirling engine running as a cooler into a coolbox - looking to see if feasible for vaccine transportation to very remote areas.
Will hopefully have some meaningful questions soon.
Regards
EddieH

Re: "Hi" We are new here!
EddieH, hi, for your cryocooler, build it with heavy duty bearings, with a heavy , strong crankshaft, and it will require an electric motor to turn it over at quite high speed, 2000rpm plus. Build it to a prooven design, don't try fancy ideas. You need a good cooling system, you'v got to get rid of the heat from thecold end of the displacer cylinder. Best wishes, and welcome to the forum. Ian S C

Hello, everyone. Looks like a nice place you all have here. Looking forward to going through the posts and learning about these motors. I've been looking at these motors for a while, now. My interest is in alternative energy. Stirling motors may fit well with that. Specifically, solar concentrators and rocket stoves seem like good sources of heat for them.
