Beta Stirling Engine

Post by dmu »

Hi everyone

I am trying to build a Stirling engine for my project and I am struggling with how to go about it, starting with calculations to determine dimensions of the whole system which I need to produce some power at least 8W to light a bulb. Basically I don't know know where to start, please help. I have been advised to look at Schimtz theory but I have no idea how to use it. These are the constants I know, T(hot)= 70 C and T(cold)=10C

Thank you in advance

Nash, I don't know anything about Schimtz theory. Here is mine, if 70* is the top temperature, and 10* is the bottom, I think to get 8 Watts you have a big problem, If the top temperature was 700*, then it would not be too much of a problem. Ian S C
