Bicycle Wheel as flywheel?

Post by paulr »

Thinking of a larger LTD solar stirling, a beta pancake engine. It would have to be made of easy to find/use materials. Any thoughts on using a bike wheel with tire/tube in place as a flywheel?

I think that would be quite a good idea, you have a fair range of sizes, from 12" to 27", you might even find an old 28" wheel. Ian S C
