Some specifications of engine:
working cilinder:
shock absorber from truck; piston ring removed ; piston diameter 40mm; stroke 60mm
displacer cylinder:
stainless steell pipe diameter 80mm, with teflon ring on flange between hot and cold part, height 120mm; displacer: steel wire wool with stroke 60mm. displacer rod bushing is brass bolt.
all rods are made of stainless steel electrodes 4mm
crank shaft:
tig welded; center shaft diameter 8mm; flying shafts 5mm with small bearings; counterbalance fishing lead on screw.
transmision: modified gearbox from owen- ratio=25 and bycicle sprockets- ratio=3 overall ratio=75
Only part turned on lathe is center shaft of cranckshaft, to fit on bearings.
Stall torque= 6 kgf cm
Calculated power on after transmision @ 5kgf cm = 0.15W

My neighbour and myself are working on a similar thing.
Goal is to have this thing working before mid june. We're planning to use a electromotor but this is a very simpel and elegant and clever solution. Why didn't I think of that myself, using a stirling to rotate the pig.
Question : what type of reduction do you use to lower the speed of the main axis...?

For first reduction I used small gearmotor from owen in cooker (In Croatia every cooker has small motor to roast chicken or something like that)
And after that I dismatled electric motor and used motor housing for leading bearings, for small shaft (only 2mm in diameter).
for longer shaft i used bycicle spoke-exactly 2mm in diameter.
I was lucky to have posibility to push first small gear ,driver gear, about 5 mm in gearbox and "bypass" 2 gear pairs, because of that axial moveof driver gear gearbox ratio is changed from about 1:190 to 1:25.
My opinion is that optimal gear ratio for stirling-pig combination is about 1:70-1:90
I have 1:25 on gearbox and 1:3 with chain overall 1:75
I will make few pictures of gearbox detail and post it!
