Stirling Textbooks?

Greetings all,

I am new to your forum, and the stirling engine in general. Thus, I am looking for a good textbook to further my knowledge on this subject.

I have found the following book recommended by the Stirling Society of the USA:

The Regenerator and the Stirling Engine
Allan J. Organ | Hardcover, 623 pages | Harvill Press, 1997

This book is rather expensive $165ish and is now more that 10 years old!!!

I was wondering if anyone on this forum has any experience with this or any other publications they could recommend to me?

Any hints or advice would be welcome.

My best advice is looking around the net,with a little efford you can piece things together
Or even better;Read:http://www.boydhouse.com/stirling/index.html
Then build the walking beam.It dosnt cost much and easy to build.
This will give you an idee of the princibel,in real life.(hands dirty)

Lucky Joe, My standbys are "Modeling Stirling Engines and Hot Air Engines" and "The Stirling Engine Manual", both by James G. Rizzo."Making Stirling Engines",by Andy Ross. And articles in "Model Engineer". Ian S C
