Is this a Sterling Engine?
Hi Folks, Well as promised here is the photo of what I think may be an antique Sterling. it looks as though it went on a boat. It is complete with the shift lever to engage a prop shaft. It came from my father-in-law's shop. He has long since passed on so I don't have any other information.
Re: Is this a Sterling Engine?
Sawwas, I don't think so, looks similar to some small petrol/ kerosene, 2 stroke motors, a Friend has a collection of them, next time I see him I'll try and check it out. Some of them did'nt need a reverse gear, you just stopped the motor, and started it in the opposite direction. Ian S C
Re: Is this a Sterling Engine?
Oops one thing I failed to mention. there is no source of ignition either external or internal nor a spot for a spark or glo plug. I'm baffled....
Re: Is this a Sterling Engine?
Hi
2 stroke diesel engine without glowhead.
The key-screw on top adjust the compression.
Like the old modelplane motors, before the glowplug.
