Hello, folks. First post here. I have an idea for a homemade accessory for a stirling engine model, but it is on the heavy side. I'm not sure a model would have enough power to rotate the accessory.
I have no technical expertise, but am told that the way to determine how much power an engine has is through its torque rating. While I see maximum RPMs for stirling models on line, I have seen no torque ratings.
I'm hoping someone who has worked with accessories of various load levels can advise me.

Hi Cocktail, what is it you want to drive? My engines drive a number of things, generators/alternators, a water pump, a power hacksaw, and fans.
Once you have your motor, you can build a Prony Brake, and test the torque of your motor, and if you also use a tacho, you can check the revs.

Thanks for your reply. My project is to have a stirling engine model power a cocktail shaker. I've concluded that the weight of a shaker + liquid and ice would be too heavy for a tabletop stirling model to power it. My revised idea is to have it power an old fashioned hand crank butter churner, which I think would be doable. I'll repost with this revised idea.
