Re: house heating system with stirling engine
Good Job Laszlo on back yard innovation. You put the Stirling, a water pump and radiator assemblys to aid in the comfort of your home!

Re: Acquired a Stirling Engine
You have a PM Research diecast Stirling on your hands. Still available new from Mini Steam and other vendors in single and dual flywheel versions. About $125 U.S. Not a real challenge to disassemble, clean and run, your neighbors 15 yr old should have it back to you in a day. The hot tube is a press...

Re: Build Stirling but torque not good
I'm looking at your video and the layout of your Gamma engine. You've taken the right step in the flywheel being heavy and solid to store the engines input torque when draging your fingers across the flywheel. The dead space is fine. With the cylinders mounted to a common block heat can migrate over...

I like your hard drive and....tape heads? for flywheels. I've seen your Youtubes......good job! What is your piston material?

Longboy's STIRLING "Fantail" engine.
A Ross yoke drive with a horizontal diaphragm power piston. The power piston works without a guide supporting the connecting rod as it pushes the balloon in and out of the cylinder due to the Ross yoke imparting a very small angle to the con rod in reciprecation and the tension of the balloon self c...

Re: free displacer beta
Asked and answered by...."yourself"! However in relating a free piston design to a mechanically connected Beta might be your miss. Most would not consider it a troubleing feature, this pushrod through a gland method, if you end up with a tried and true running model. A somewhat hybrid free...

Re: A new Stirling engine concept ?
Can't you read: "peer reviewed" Can't you understand what this mean? People with a brain can read this paper: http://www.monotherme.com/pdf/research_on_new_isochoric_process.pdf By now you should give the "new Stirling concept" a rest on this forum as your reviewed paper doesn't...

Re: High compression
A piston moving within another moving piston can be sealed just as they would be in a piston moving in a stationary cylinder. If high compression is proven in Diesel your materials need to have the capacity to hold the compression to these rates. Don't know of any examples that use piston within pis...

Re: Advice for ratios
Your solution is to shorten the displacer stroke with unmatched cyl. diameters. The diameter of the displacer cylinder is three times the copper pipe diameter. Equal air exchange of unheated air volume is controled by how deep you plung the displacer and power piston into its their bores so set the ...

Hello all! If I want to join copper plumbing pipe to tin can for making of power piston, what is the neatest, and easiest method that you might be able to reccomend. Any soldering tips would be much appreciated. Regards, Peter As you see in the former responses, soldering and prep is a pain. Clear ...

Re: My don't delete me post
....You should throw the caculator away and start building the engine. Those who get lost in the math just end up with a pile of parts and going back to the chauk board doesn't advance the construction process. You have the hot cyl. and displacer missing? Start cutting metal. Make the displacer abou...
