Re: Proell Effect

Well, here is a portion of Matt's reference: Have either of you actually read it? Proell_effect_excerpt.jpg Personally I don't agree with #3 that heat can somehow be used over and over. Once the heat is converted to "work" and goes out as electricity, dispersed through the grid or whateve...

Re: Constant volume compression/expansion-displacer chamber analysis-heat powered mechanical amplifier

VincentG, I don't have a problem with your use of the term "echo chamber", I would call it a blog. When someone, such as Daryl Boyd makes a bulletin board and invites people to post, he opens the door for a wide range of personalities. People tend to stay if they are strong willed. That is...

Whenever "fool" gets annoyed he starts drowning this place with spam posts so it's virtually unusable at this point. If you continue to deny, libel, and curse at the classical greats like Carnot, Kelvin, Clausius, and standard thermodynamics theory and education, you will continue to be a...

Re: Insulating the cold side

Do not confuse 'adiabatic temperature drop from work output' with 'temperature drop from heat removal' . They are not the same thing. If an expansion is adiabatic, work output from the gas turns into a temperature drop. Recompressing the gas after such an expansion requires all the work to be put ba...

Re: Why are you interested in Stirling engines? (Or why are you here?)

To me it seems amazing that they can be built from trash, yet well designed and constructed they can operate in four modes: Engine from high temperature clockwise, Engine from cold counterclockwise. Heat pump to red heat counterclockwise. And Cryocooler to liquid air clockwise. All from the same eng...

Re: Air Lift Turbine Generator

That's it? Name drop Matt Ferrell, a comedian. ... This looks quite a lot like some ideas that were floated in heat not too long ago using towers to generate pressure differentials, VincentG I think? ... It was Matt and his mile high mercury tube. The comedian is Will Ferrell, not Matt Ferrel. Does...

Re: Air Lift Turbine Generator

Check valves have a pressure to open requirement. If you aren't producing enough pressure difference to open them, they won't open. The case of a displacer chamber, the pressure swings will be quite small. Less than 30 psi, and likely less than 10 or 15. Smaller diameter checks will need higher pres...

That's it? Name drop Matt Ferrell, a comedian. Then claim there are 'valves' of some sort in the lines... Yeah that proves it, the all powerful valve... NOT. You might as well said 'snifter valve' for all the meaningless drivel that is. Sorry I still don't buy it. The government isn't going to stop ...

Re: Air Lift Turbine Generator

Refrigeration is a cycle. Not a single stroke. The refrigeration cycle requires work input. Don't confuse adiabatic temperature drop with refrigeration. Adiabatic temperature drop applies to a contained gas and a single stroke. Refrigeration is moving heat energy out of a cold place and injecting it...

You will need to think for yourself. Tom thinks it's real. I can't see how the claim makes any cohesive sense. Matt brought it here as an example of a scam, to dispell the opening post. Read the comments in the YouTube links..Google search with the added word "debunk", or "scam"....
