Ian,
Thanks for the answer.
I didn't understand what is a "fairly long Heylandt Crown on the hot piston"? Do you have any picture of that?
Do you have a drawing of your engine? I would like to understand better the path of the fluir during its operation.
Best regards

Re: Alpha Stirling Design - What dou you thing?
Nice one Ian S C, congratulation for your job.
I tried to design a Ross Yoke, but I wasn't able.
Dou you see benefits over the "regular" crank shaft?
What about your regenerator? How it is look like?
I am going to heat using a torch.

Alpha Stirling Design - What dou you thing?
Hello,
What do you thing about the design of the alpha stirling engine that I am doing (see attached file)?
My main question, are about the heater, regenerator and cooler.
Do you have any comments and suggestion? Can I improve this design?
Best regards,
José Guilherme

CFD - Alpha Stirling Engine
Hello, Does anyone has experience on CFD simulation of an alpha stirling engine? I am trying to simulate the engine using Fluent software from Ansys, but I am struggling with some topics: - How to simulate a closed loop system? - How to consider the change in the volume of the piston? Best regards, ...

Re: Converting Compressor to an Alpha Stirling Engine
We opened the compressor, and here is what we found: Figure 6 - compressor head The image above shows the 2 existents valves in the compressor head, that is useful for its works. • Valves 1 allows the air flows inside the cylinder. • Vales 2 allows the air flows outside the cylinder. Considering tha...

Converting Compressor to an Alpha Stirling Engine
I bought a used twin cylinder to convert it into an Alpha Stirling Engine: Figure 1 - whole compressor assembly I removed the air intake filter of the both cylinder tapping the whole with a plug, and also installed a copper tube between the 02 air exit, as shown below: Figura 2 - details of the modi...
