Hi richi,
That's one nice Stirling engine model you have there. Just curious though if have further information like its power output and the estimated cost for making it.

Hi Trevor,
Those are really some nice pics of your machines there. Would sure like to share them on my website too.

Re: Sterling Diaphragm Engine
Those fins look cool. Anyone care to explain the function of these fins? I think they look nice on the engine even if its just for aesthetics.

Great job Trevor.
All I can say is there is beauty in function.

Re: What are the challenges for making an engine that does real work?
My impression after looking at some of the comments seems to be that the 2 significant immediate challenges to the making of a powerful Stirling Engine are: 1)The need of a physically big engine body short of any clever way to overcome this size and power relationship. 2) The feasibility of engineer...

Re: What are the challenges for making an engine that does real work?
Hi Thanh, Thanks very much for your offer of help! It will be much appreciated if the building plans can be documented clearly on diagrams for easy instruction to DIYers. I have seen several Stirling Engine designs on the internet and came to understand there are several versions. Although not havin...

Re: What are the challenges for making an engine that does real work?
Thanks for all the suggestions. Trevor's machine looks to be more powerful than the other miniaturize versions of Stirling engines i have seen so far. I wonder if it might not be useful to standardize a building plan for a simple and work capable Stirling Engine prototype built using easy available ...

What are the challenges for making an engine that does real work?
I have a question regarding the feasibility of building a Stirling Engine that is based entirely on open source and low tech methods. I would like this machine to be capable of performing real work with a minimum power output that makes it truly useful and not just a toy. It should be able to be bui...

Re: "Hi...We are new here!" First posts here (or anywhere is OK)
Hi everyone, I am James. I came across a YouTube video about Stirling Engines recently and I am now absolutely hooked! It amazes me what the potential of this machine can be if we resolve a few of the remaining technical issues. I would like to see it one day becoming an open source technology that ...

Hi Thanh,
Just seen your video. A beautifully made machine. Just wondering, have you ever considered also building one that can be used to perform real work in rural settings?
