Hi Thanh, Been absent for a while myself. Nice to see your work again and it is a nice job you have done.
Have you worked on or made any fluid dyne engines. Might have to ask Tom as I can't find anything as yet that suits.
Nice to be back though.

Tom - Not sure what you are looking at might work. It appears to be a thermo acoustic engine and these need to be well balanced. Not sure they can be made to variant pressure. Forgot to tell you I use these for casting my silver items as well. Temperatures used here are at 500 Deg C and have not caused a problem.
So temperature here is no problem for our hot air engines. These cake tins are around 8" diam (200mm)

I use these ones Tom and are very strong.
I buy them from the cheap shops for around $5.00 AUS and are cooking bowls and can with stand 300+ Deg C. I have used them for water pumps in my Engines and have lasted a few years without wear. Hope this helps

Hi Tom
Maybe the hit & Miss engine is a little difficult in an hot air engine but I believe the Bailey Engine was pretty close though it did use a governor of sorts which kind of does the same thing.

Sure is Danalin You will find that the stainless is a lot more resilient than steel is and even that can shred. I hope all goes well with you. Hi Danalinscott Again looking at the regenerator for you and what you are using - Using steel wool maybe not a good idea and this is due to the weakness of the fibres. Yes. When the diaphragm is mid way is when the engine requires more force to move up or down.
I guess it all depends how the diaphragm is manufactured.

Yep! See your point. Diaphragms are an excellent piston, but one must also be alert for bulging which wastes energy and also a major problem is using a diaphragm that is too thick. If it is too thick then a lot of energy is required to pull back past the mid range area. I actually solved this proble...

Sorry for the long delay, been away for a few days.
Below is a picture of the Bailey Engine. You notice that this is a Beta type engine - Not a Gamma Engine. What I did was to try and convert the Gamma Engine I had with a Bailey Linkage.
Turned out to be quite successful.
