Re: Rod Length Ratio_____Effect of connecting rod length relative to stroke length
yes i am thinking of trying a scotch yoke further down the line, but given the normal crank set up is the standard it seems odd to have a glaring gap in community knowledge. making the ratio excessively long doesn't really hurt most of the time, but there are plenty of times you'd want to keep it mi...

Rod Length Ratio_____Effect of connecting rod length relative to stroke length
The rod ratio is the relative lengths of the stroke vs the connecting rod between crank and piston. i have never head any mention of this specific quantity within stirling or model engine discussions. so i thought i would put forward my view and see what the group consensus was. http://forums.pelica...

Re: Please Check my Calcs....
Bumkin____ i agree forums like this should easily be able to produce guide lines or at least a range of examples from working engines, the trouble is any engine in the real world cannot be perfectly calculated before it is built, from my own experience in studying thermodynamics and doing CFD comput...

Please Check my Calcs....
Hello all, ive been planning a tin can gamma engine to be built from scratch ive found two cans that seem to be a good starting point and ive built an excel spreadsheet that calculates volumes as well as calculating the stroke length of the power piston for a range of diameters Vs. a range of ratios...

displacer cylinder size and proportions
Hello all, i've turned my hands to allot of things over the years, now i've caught the stirling bug, symptoms include only eating foods that come in unusually shaped cans.... I do actually have an engineering background but my experience of thermodynamics mostly taught me that theory merely emulates...
