Re: Philips Genset remade
Hi All, Since 3 years, I have a GenSet MP1002CA. It's absolutely unofficial, but it's maybe possible, per coincidentally, that I can have access to some copies of this genset done by the help of a big "band". Is somebody is interested by one ? And at what price (around) ? The GenSet(origi...

Learning more about the history of the Stirling Engine
Hi all, After some time without doing anything with Stirling Engines I'm looking at it again. I notice there aren't that much posts on this forum any more. If we look back at the Stirling engine I notice there are so much failed attempts. Philips, NASA, Whispergen are some that come to mind. I've ne...

Re: i'm depressed
Agree with Ian S C. You could look at Youtube. There are a lot of examples to stirlings that are easy to build. It is always recommended to start with such a tin can engine. I also started with that, and it was difficult enough to get it to run. After that you can move on to something more, which wi...

Re: Value of my Philips MP1002CA Stirling Engine
Can anybody help me with a value for my Philips MP1002CA Stirling Engine? As far as I can ascertain it is one of only 150 ever built. It sat for years in my dad's garage and has never been used. Thank you, Turaco Very hard to tell. There are indeed not much, and of all the ones made I'm sure there ...

Re: My First Walking Beam Stirling engine build with pictures
Lol, my furnace is not 'starting to crack, its literally falling apart. Haven't made a video with my electric furnace yet, that will come later but am very busy with school ATM. I bought it for 50 dollars though, in really good shape. They had to get rid of it fast because they were moving and didn'...

Re: My First Walking Beam Stirling engine build with pictures
Nice! I made that same forge, but it's almost falling apart. Bought an electric furnace that can go up to 1200 degrees C, hope to do some more casting in the future. That's really a nice flywheel considering the Styrofoam mold was made by hand! Engine runs nice now, smooth. Verstuurd vanaf mijn XT10...

Re: My First Walking Beam Stirling engine build with pictures
Hi, Nice engine! It really looks nice, and runs nice. As mentioned on Youtube, there is a 'knock' when running. Isn't your displacer knocking the bottom of the cylinder? Really nice flywheel! I noticed you have a small (charcoal fired?) furnace. Also interested how you make that neat styrofoam shape...

And there it is, the start of the Solidworks drawing from wich the engine is going to be built.
Want to finish the rest of the drawing and start building, but school is busy. Hope to finish it sometime soon. Enjoy!

Re: Gasmachinenenfabrik Amberg
Ian S C: Actiengesellschaft means something like 'public company' a company with limited liability. That engine looks quite OK. The link to the other forum mentioned looks very useful. Good luck with trying to get it running, very interesting engine! If you need any help with the translation of Germ...
