There are 2 types spot and linear I like linear as the heat is still good and multiple hot cylinders at once can be heated.

Lens it is - here is where I go and this guy knows Stirlings as well!!! EDIT - I would look at the one that is not SPOT but rather the one with a enlongated focal point and place multiple hot cylinders in a row!!!

I am curious if there is a "balance" item here as well. I know that the stirling typically has a 90 degree offset so a second setup 180 degrees to balance the first cylinder set would allow the whole engine to be balanced evenly right? Now this doesn't answer friction directly but there ar...

Bogan - I applaud that you can make such a nicely milled engine I only wish I had a mill to do the same.
