i would say use JB stick weld and you will be impresses. since the heat will not be directly on the JB you should be fine. its like a puddy and you kneed it and mould it then it drys in 3-5 min. i like it because i had to do what you did (only it was a pvc elbow to an aluminum can) and its been bang...

If displacer in gamma is too small it needs more heat?
my first engine will only run off of my gas stove when its on medium and only 100 rpm at the most. could this be my displacer is too small? i plan on making another engine that uses sheets of cork bolted together as a displacer.

i got pissed and put my gamma engine on the gas stove and cranked it up to medium and kept spinning the fly wheel and the damn thing fired up after nearly a week of work ! ill post pictures tomarrow

yeah if i made an alpha stirling i would use brass tubes and fittings with pistons made of jb weld. do you think that would work? also i would like to make it horozontal instead of a v twin type so would the cranks have to be at a 90 degree angle to eachother?

need help making my first stirling engine
i tried to make a beta engine with the diaphram about an hour ago and it wouldent work. then being a dipshit i tried to jumstart it with a dremel tool and it flew apart. can you guys tell me how to make an alpha stirling engine? i had an idea of using jb weld as a piston.
