ON the end of the spoke that connects to the rim there should be threads and a odd shaped nut one uses to true up the rim by varying torque on the spokes.

Re: High powered Stirling going into production

I know all this and live with it daily. My battery bank, and large AC inverter, are housed in a separate steel structure and indeed the feed cables from my 3,500 amp hour bank to inverter are massive 00 gauge. They are only 1.5 meters long and are fed from huge solid copper buss bars connecting all...

Re: High powered Stirling going into production

A simple regulator similar to what's used on propane tanks should suffice to hold the gas pressure at a given setting. Is there something I'm missing here? Maybe you are not missing anything? It could be as simple as you suggest. I didnt ask specifically for details in this area as for me the wifi ...

Re: High powered Stirling going into production

Since I was thinking to possibly run the engine with a rocket-stove I did ask if one needed to buy the whole thing. The answer is no, they will sell units eg without the pellet burner as well as barebone engines. However, that said, since the internal N preassure is controlled and adjusted automati...

Re: High powered Stirling going into production

What about those of us that already have our own battery bank and live off grid. The engine/generator would be great, but shipping their batteries is a cost barrier. I just need an engine that will make the electrical power and throw a little heat back into the house when needed. I don't need a whol...

Re: 2-cylinder Gamma - project

Triangle.Stirling , If you use copper tube there's a trick to bending it without kinks. Fine loose dry sand. Plug both ends of the tube with a wooden dowel shaved to fit very tight. Plug one end and then fill the tube with the sand. Leave enough room to plug the other end. Tight bends can then be ca...

Re: alpha type stirling engine question

Isn't this a variation of a gamma engine?

Nice either way.

Re: Big Stirling Engine

Well I can vouch for at least one of those feedback comments because it was mine! As I said, overall I am vey pleased with the engine - but I did go in with open eyes, knowing what to expect in terms of power rather than accepting the sellers claims at face value. NHH OK, that's not exactly what I ...

Re: Big Stirling Engine

With all the Hyporex stirlings being sold on ebay, I havent found a forum yet where someone posted that they got one. In response to your curiosity or search for buyers who got their engine delivered, http://www.hyporex.ca/testimonial.php Sorry to be a spoil sport but using an internal reference fo...

Re: Solar Powered Stirling engine school project help!!

I think you are adding complexity where it isn't needed and may waste energy by the addition of processes to the whole affair. Every step where the heat is moved without doing work in the engine is potentially wasted.

Re: NASA Stirling research

Nice video! I wish I could buy one of those little test engines, running 160 watts each. I bet they would out live my old ass. I'll take 3K watts please. I wish we could have seen the scaled up models about to be tested in the vacuum chamber! I have a forest of wood waste, and with my current ice st...

Re: HHO, woodgas, OTTO alternative

Wood gas could be collected and pressurized in a large large large propane tank. Even if not made liquid a 5,000 gallon tank could store a lot of this gas. If stored the particulates would settle out. Didn't they used to make coal gas and light entire cities with the stuff?
