Re: [ALPHA]Best heater to cooler volume ratio

Ok, thank you for your answers. I'll have tap water, temp. ~10 C degrees, so flow will be slow to get such temperature.
And what should be regenerator volume? One volume of cylinder would be suitable?

Re: [ALPHA]Best heater to cooler volume ratio

I mean that when I have hot cylinder of volume 100cm3, than what should be volume of cool cylinder?

[ALPHA]Best heater to cooler volume ratio

Hi! I'm writing my thesis about Stirling Engine and have a problem. Somewhere, also on this forum, I've read that it's proper to heater had volume equal to 2/3 volume of cooler. Is that true for alpha Stirling engine? Could you share any publication source? Thanks for any help. Best regards, Bartek C

Re: Building alpha stirling- literature for documentation ne

Now I'm making calculations for that alpha. I'm looking for formulas, best heater/cooler rates, other information useful in designing.
I am trying to prove that engine of dimensions I want to create will work properly.

Building alpha stirling- literature for documentation needed

Hello everybody! I'm student at the moment and I'm working at Stirling engine. For receiving money for the project I have to make some documentation, I found lot of publications, but I can't get two books (I think): Optimum performance of irreversible Stirling engine with imperfect regeneration. Aut...

Re: Alpha type engine, is it going to work? What for regenera

OK, I understand, conducting shouldn't be too fast. Actually it would be my first engine and I don't want to screw it up. If this one is working, I'll develep it very quickly, if not- I'll probbably give up working with this project (straw enthusiasm;)). I was looking for information about alpha typ...

Re: Alpha type engine, is it going to work? What for regenera

Thank you for advice. I understand that hot and cold gas shouldn't mix, yes? So the pipe isn't needed. What about using many uninsulated copper wires? Or many wires insulated together? Copper would be good, because is great heat conductor, what do you think? I was considering using polytetrafluoroet...

Alpha type engine, is it going to work? What for regenerator?

Hi everybody! I want to build alpha type Stirling's engine, I have two the same very hermetic cylinders with pistons from car engine and something, let's call it project with description (it's attached). Is it going to work? I was thinking about construction like in a two-pan balance. What would be ...
