Re: My last made Stirling engine : an alpha Ross 38 cm3

Thank's :) Ian S C -> What you say is very interesting for me and confirms to me that my engine has potential. With the cordless drill, the engine was drove at 1000 rpm.-20°C was obtained at 3mn10s and when the battery fails at 4mn08s the temperature was -21,4°C. The most surprising for me is that t...

Re: My alpha Stirling engine.

Hi Chris, are you still on the forum these days? I love your little engine and have been working on trying to design a copy of it since seeing it on on Youtube a few weeks ago. Being a v-twin motorcycle enthusiast I like the elegant simplicity of your little V engine. I would like to get a few more...

Re: My alpha Stirling engine.

All alpha engines I saw on the net is of this type except one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8S7bA1I0fQ) which is a true text book alpha. They even have a name for it. "Alpha Rider". The gap between the cylinder and the piston is very little (6µ). So there is not possible to warm the cy...

Re: My alpha Stirling engine.

Hello everybody. Thanks everybody for your interest I don't speak very well english but i think have understood that there is a discution to know if my engine is a gamma or an alpha. The response is simple, it is a alpha. It has got two pistons. What you call a displacer is in reality an outgrowth o...

Re: My alpha Stirling engine.

Yes, it's true. On the video, it turn at about 900 RPM. It has turned at a bit more than 1100. But you have to consider the mode of heating. (alcool 90°). It is possible to turn at 2000 RPM with gas heating, i think. I don't have try yet. For the moment i'm working to increase the rpm with the alcoo...
